Tom Durang Martijn
Tom Durang Martijn (Senior Adviser)
Tom Durang brings in more than 20 years of work experience both in the National and International Milieu in diverse areas of expertise. Tom has been the Managing Director from 2014 to January 2018 and is now the Senior Adviser. before which he served as an Agricultural Development Advisor at the Integrated Water management Department of Wienco Ghana from 2012-2014.
In his previous capacities, he rendered Consultancy services with FAO-Royal Dutch Embassy Maputo in 2011, International Component Advisor with DANIDA finance Project in Mozambique from 2006-2011, Institutional Development Expert/ Environmental Specialist with Corporacion de Gestion Derecho Ambiental in 2005. Serving as an Information Technology expert/GIS Expert with EURO-Consult, Tom Durang from 1995-2005, has also served in the capacity of Environmental Specialist/ GIS Expert, Planning specialist/GIS Expert, Institutional Development and Natural resource Management Expert and Advisor with an outstanding record of successes, achievements and impact in all places of work. His professional expertise with these organization and his achievements is what has put him at the helm of IWAD Ghana Ltd.
Busia Nambu Dawuni
Busia Nambu Dawuni (Managing Director)
Busia Nambu Dawuni, brings over 15 years working experience as a Professional Irrigation Engineer both with the Public and Private sectors. Busia who specializes in, Irrigation Water Resource management has been the GM from 2014 to January 2018 and is currently the Managing director. From 2012-2014, Busia Dawuni also served as an Irrigation Expert with Wienco Ghana ltd and from 2005-2012. Previously worked as a Senior Agricultural Engineer with Ghana Irrigation Development Authority during which period he did work with Projects funded by the Millennium Development Authority(MIDA), Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA) and in the area of irrigation and water resource Management. He did carried some research activities in collaboration with Water Management Institute (IWMI) in the area of water productivity for rice with some publications.
Diana Banuro(General Manager)
Diana Banuro joined IWAD Ghana Ltd. in March 2018 as the General Manager with a specific focus on the seed business development. She brings on board 11 years of professional private sector working experience both in the national and international environment. From 2014-2018, she served as the General Manager of a major export company active in the shea supply chain in the 3 northern regions of Ghana where she grew an international supply chain from Ghana through The Netherlands to the rest of the world. Diana relocated to Ghana in 2013 after spending over two decades in Belgium. She started her career in 2007 in the pharmaceutical sector as Regional Business Manager and later as a Business Analyst/Financial Controller. In the period 2010-2014, she worked as an Investment Manager Africa for an impact investment fund based in Brussels and Paris. Her academic background is in Business Economics.
Sampson Sayibu (Deputy General Manager)
Sampson Sayibu brings in over 8 years’ experience in Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He holds his First and Master’s degrees in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the University of Applied management, Germany respectively. Executive Certificate in Human Resource Management from the African Center for Capacity Building (AFCAB). In his previous capacities, he was the director of operations for Slamson Ghana Limited, a waste management company that focused on wastewater treatment projects for the Dutch and Danish development corporations in Accra from 2011-2017. He also held the positions of Regional Supply Chain manager and Key Accounts Manager for IAWL limited Ghana for the three northern regions and the Ashanti region from 2008-2011. As IWAD looks into expanding its business operations, there was the need to bring in someone with this background to have an oversight responsibility over the entire logistics planning strategies for the company and also to oversee the Tamale office operations in general. He joins IWAD as the Deputy General Manager.
Tuabu Obed Kofi
Tuabu Obed Kofi (Unit Head for S.H.I/C.A unit and Ag. Filed Operations Manager.)
Obed brings on board over 6 years in the field of teaching and research and over 8 years in practical field experience in the area of irrigation, water management and the organization of production for smallholder farmers. He worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant with the University for Development Studies from 2007 to 2008 as part of his National Service. He worked at the Project Officer for Agriculture with the Women and Development Project from 2008 to 2010. He joined IWAD in 2013 till date as the Smallholder Irrigation Officer and currently serving as the Ag. Fields Operations Manager. He holds BSc. (Irrigation and Mechanization) from the University for Development Studies and MSc. (Irrigation Engineering) from Wageningen University and Research.
